Six. Commitment

…till death do us part, or something else, we’ll see…

The next eight chapters will focus on relational land-mines, issues that will blow up in our faces if we don’t understand what they’re about and how to defuse them. The flip side is that if we go into a relationship aware of these things, we can turn them into strengths. We don’t grow in the absence of conflict and we can’t run away from the potential of these problems. Instead, we can walk through them with perspective, wisdom, and grace, which is my goal in talking about them. The list below may be subjective, because relationships fail for all kinds of reasons, but from my experience and those of a lot of friends and acquaintances, these eight things keep popping up, so I think they’re worth looking at, and they’ll be what we focus on.
